SignMitra ChromeOS Player privacy
The SignMitra ChromeOS Player Companion has one purpose: operating and remotely managing a SignMitra digital-signage player on Chrome and managed ChromeOS kiosk devices.
Data used
- A randomly generated SignMitra device identifier, pairing code, player state, orientation, app version, uptime and available storage are sent to SignMitra so the display can be paired, monitored and kept synchronized.
- A screenshot of the active signage display is captured and uploaded only when an authorized SignMitra administrator sends the screenshot command for that device.
- The extension does not collect browsing history, passwords, payment information, personal communications or content from unrelated tabs.
Permissions
Power access keeps the signage display awake. Audio access applies the volume selected by the device owner. Tab capture is used only for the authorized signage screenshot function. SignMitra host access connects the companion to the player and uploads that screenshot securely over HTTPS.
Sharing and retention
Data is used only to provide, secure and support SignMitra playback. It is not sold, used for advertising or transferred to data brokers. Device records and diagnostic screenshots are retained according to the customer account and operational retention settings.
Limited Use
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
